Create posters, presentations, flyers and more quickly and easily. No experience required!
Canva isn't so much a teaching tool as a tool to facilitate your teaching (or your students' learning) depending on how you plan to use it. I like the ease of creating posters or flyers and the students are engaged because the process is very simple. I prefer using the website on a desktop or laptop computer. Use it as a means of summative assessment will make any unit of study more interesting. I wish more images were free to use because it's not possible to allow students to purchase them. Another plus is that students can sign up with Google+ so if your school is using Google for Education then account creation is quick and easy. Once signed in, students can work on their projects in school, at home, or wherever they have a digital device.

App works well, but website is better
I love that this product is so easy to use. Students don't get caught up in learning the tool, but use it to demonstrate their understanding (at either a high or low level depending on teacher lesson design.) For some of the fine tuning, a few students needed to use the computer because it was easier for them to use. I also like that there are a lot of great free images to use and that it does have the ability to upload your own.
This is a quick and easy way for students to demonstrate understanding while being creative. Two thumbs up!

I love that Canva reinforces some basic desktop publishing techniques and allows students the ability to try new design layouts easily.

Creating pictures worth more than a thousand words.
I feel that Canva is an excellent tool for sharing meaningful experiences in a classroom. Having the ability to create professionally looking media as a formal assessment was paramount in my opinion. If a picture is worth a thousand words then Canva is definitely responsible for a million more.
