My Take
Canva is a great resource for educators to utilize throughout different areas in an educational setting. This website provides templates for posters, handouts, whiteboards, social media and more that can be used to gain the interest of not only students, but also parents and faculty. What I liked the most about this website was the wide range of variety that it offers teachers. As a student you can always tell how much effort your teachers put into class presentations. I always paid attention to the teachers who had the interactive slides and colorful presentations. The only thing that I didn't like was that you have to pay for some features. I understand that the website needs a way to generate income so this is understandable. In a perfect world all resources for teachers would be free. Besides that, this is a great website that I am sure I will utilize in the future.
How I Use It
I have used this website throughout various instances over the years and it continues to surprise me with each use. This website offers me as a student a wide variety of services and templates that allow me to go out of the box and be creative when I am completing assignments. Canva stands out compared to other educational websites due to the fact that they provide templates for more than one educational need. This website is tailored to meeting the needs of both students and teachers in any way they can imagine. While I have only utilized this website as a student, I noticed that they offer templates for social media and white boards which allow teachers to be creative when designing programs for classroom use. As a teacher I would use this website to make class presentations and homework assignments more visually appealing so that student are more inclined to interact and participate.
